Set up Gemini API

Connect, authenticate, then try a task.

Use the Gemini API’s remote MCP tool integration over Streamable HTTP. This setup describes the API surface rather than Gemini apps or CLI.

Authorization header
Authorization: Bearer aroai_live_YOUR_SECRET_KEY
  1. 01

Use the Interactions API feature documented for remote MCP tools.

  2. 02

Pass https://mcp.aroai.com/v1 as the server endpoint and supply the required authentication headers.

  3. 03

Review the API’s approval and tool-call behavior before using it with live data.

API key

Provide the Aroai bearer API key as an Authorization header in the remote MCP configuration. Keep the key in protected server-side credentials, not in browser code or a committed source file.

Protect credentials. Create an API key under API keys in your Aroai portal. Configure it using your client's protected credential store. Never commit a live key or replace this example placeholder with a real secret in a shared configuration.

Check this client’s feature support

API authentication, user approval and supported MCP features are controlled by the Gemini API integration. Do not assume the CLI setup applies here.

After setup

Run one useful call.

A successful connection only confirms the client can reach the server. Use a recipe to discover a relevant tool, inspect the returned fields and review what still needs attention.
