Research a New Zealand business

Use NZBN search and entity details to create a source-aware business summary without filling in missing fields.

New ZealandBusiness research

What this workflow produces

A concise preparation note that names the business match, records the source fields returned and lists the information that still needs review. It is a research aid, not a complete due diligence opinion.

What you need

  • An Aroai workspace and a compatible MCP client.
  • A business name or a 13-digit NZBN you are permitted to research.
  • Workspace access to the NZBN tools. A workspace key may be needed if the platform source credential is unavailable.

Run the search and inspect the match

  1. 01

    Search

Call nzbn_search with a business name. Review candidate names and NZBNs, and ask a person to resolve ambiguous matches.

  2. 02

    Select

Choose the record that matches the intended business. Do not silently select among multiple plausible entities.

  3. 03

    Open details

Call nzbn_get_entity using the exact returned 13-digit NZBN and the discovered input schema.

  4. 04

    Summarise

Separate returned source facts from interpretation. List missing fields as gaps rather than completing them from model memory.

Review before use

  • Check the name and identifier on the selected record.
  • Keep the returned fields and source context with the summary.
  • Do not infer directors, shareholders or any other field absent from the returned data.
  • A sample name in this guide does not guarantee a current matching record.

Connect a compatible client, choose a workflow and review the source fields that come back.
